I personally couldn’t tell you exactly at what rpm I shift. You get to know your ride and the sound. There is way to many other things going on around the truck to be staring at the tach.

Here you go I will help you. Use the clutch, floating the trans follows the same pattern as properly double clutching. So learn to shift properly using the clutch, and the rest will follow.gentleroger, feldsforever, Bean Jr. and 7 others Thank this.

Dont think of it as revving... You just want to ease the rpms up nice and easy... Not like a race car on the green light. Once you get the hang of it, it will become a fluid motion that you bring the rpms up AS YOU MOVE the shifter THROUGH neutral and into the lower gear.... The shifter will never stop out of a gear once you become really proficient.Vampire and God prefers Diesels Thank this.
