Funny you say that. That is where my mother moved last year. She lived her whole life in Illinois (Kankakee) and suddenly it wasn't good enough anymore. Not like anything has changed there in forever.

Don't take it the wrong way. I'm not bashing anyone for the way they live. But like my wife who has never in her life travel off the interstate system or airplane. It was a culture shock.

I prefer to travel that way.

Sometimes I'll crank up the rpm with the fan on and flood the front of my cooling pack and watch for how dirty the water is the fan sprays everywhere. On my truck, separating the cac is a major pia. It has to go up and out, brackets and a/c condensor have to be removed, etc.

I used 409 cleaner on a cold rad and after a 20 min soak I used a garden hose to wash it out from the back side.
The 409 can loosen the bugs without eating the metal and paints if you don't let it sit too long and the garden hose will not bend or loosen fins in the rad.

Luckily it's pretty simple to remove on this one. 2 bolts per side and I can swing it out of the way enough to expose the entire radiator without needing to remove the condenser.

Couple guys here suggested some stuff called foaminator. Spray on and in about a minute it'll foam up pushing debris out. I'll probably pull the cac out completely so I have the space to do it, the condenser, and radiator at the same time.

It seems to be managing better. It's been a pretty dusty environment here lately so it may end up being something I need to do every couple of weeks.

I hauled eight diesel generators from New Orleans back to North Carolina today ( Hurricane Ida disaster relief ). Put em all together and they don’t compare to that.
