someone offered me 2 loads that took less than 30 minutes to load and unload, 6 hours from pickup to delivery, no tarps, 7k each so I worked 3 days for 14k.
Grandma was busy making sure the grandkids don’t go without for Christmas.

with my low trailer I was able to beat the other truck to the job site by 3.5 hours. I didn’t have to wait over night to unload, I was home Saturday noon and he unloaded his second load Sunday am.

Very nice you guys can get together like that. I had the pleasure of meeting @wore out a few years ago when he was taking a break from cow haulin and was pulling a hopper like he was talking about in the video, straight up hilarious guy!

Sorry for your loss Russ, lost my best friend in '95, like losing a brother. Rockets memories are still alive as long as you're around!

    Thanks for doing that Blair.

    Done for the year.

I smashed together my numbers for the year in the last couple of days - here's what I came up with.

    $204,941 revenue to the truck
    52,635 miles
117 days (includes all 3/4 days where I arrived at or left the house)
    449 miles a day average.
    $3.89/ mile all miles TTT.

Interesting to note only $12k in maintenance this year, of which only $2k went to the mechanic. I spent more on boxes for the step deck, tarps, swapping wheels out on the FLTE, and tires for the same, than I spent on mechanical repairs. I think the only thing was the AAC compressor this year. I had spent so much in the last couple of years on 'Ol Blacky ' that there was literally nothing left to repair or replace. I may just do starter/alternator/batteries as PM to spend some $.

Fuel cost me 47 cpm - or 12% of revenue. Still averages 6.25 MPG.

Profit to loss ratio - 65%/35%. I stuffed as much in the expenses as I could - $3700 laptop, all cellphone plans, boxes, tarps etc etc. The only thing I left out was $6,100 for the driveway work at the house - as to not muddy the trucking figures - but I'll hand that to the CPA too. Step deck has a small note remaining on it, but will provide up to $40k of depreciation.

The Step deck extendable was bought in February, and has done a handful of runs - it's only niche load so far is the electronic signs. The rest was on the flat extendable. Many short oversize loads closer to the house this year - fewer high $ long and wides. The regular long roofing, but sporadic.

Didn't work at all February - most of June too with the frozen shoulder.

Start off the New Year with a roofing run to Maryland of all places. I quoted him "I don't want to do it" rates a couple of weeks back and they bloody well took it. Darn.

I guess this makes 7 years, and start my 8th year in February with the big blue starfish.

Hope you all enjoy the holidays, whatever you do.
