Because I've done that job. Too much unpaid work. The carrier I drove for had annual driver turnover of 107% Most OTR carriers have annual driver turnover over 90%. If that's your choice, fine but for most drivers the higher pay, more consistent pay, home time and a few hundred other reasons make LTL a more popular choice.
Yeah!! I have my CDL permit but nowhere to go

Thanks for the history. The more I read, the more knowledge I gain through everyone here. Lol. What makes one person cringe may bring joy to another. I do look forward to gaining the experience you have in order to make that same determination at some point in the future. As old as I am I love to experience good life lessons but not all of them.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Through everyone here I am gaining the knowledge (both good and bad) that I need for me to succeed in something that I have a passion for.
I looked at Davis and they only took recent grads from the local college. Nothing against the college but I want to begin my career sooner rather than later. I also understand that local jobs have the benefit or paying more and being home every night, I'm home every night now and I feel trapped being in the city. I'm ready to just drive.
