You are worrying for no reason, don't say anything. You aren't using your brain anymore than you would surfing the net for an hour after driving all day, it's common sense, keep your mouth shut.

You make a good point about surfing the web. And, on another note, I'm pretty sure many of the trucker vloggers on YouTube whose channels generate income are not logging their time spent on filming and editing, which would technically be paid work. Still, the thought of having an at-fault accident when driving for this carrier, while having a second paid job that has not been logged is something that can't be ignored. By the way, my first 4-7 weeks driving will be with a trainer. Not sure if that is a factor in this discussion.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do. I have other income as a side gig...don't worry about it..keep your eyes on the road, keep it between the lines and you will be fine. I know it's easier said than done but you seem like a sharp person, trust yourself.Don Key Hotey Thanks this.

Yeah, I'm sure it will all work out. I'll let you guys know what happens....if there is anything worth reporting.smokey12 Thanks this.

Youtube does not pay their creators to create their art. They pay only one month (and ongoing) after the art is published and has generated ad revenue. It would be similar if a person planted a hobby garden which took work to tend during the growing season then took the bounty down to the local farmer's market and sold the produce for profit. Anyone would be hard pressed to qualify that as work as it pertains to DOT regs.Bean Jr. and Don Key Hotey Thank this.

In a few years you’ll look back at this and laugh. What you do on your 10 hours off a day is up to you. Don’t worry about logging things like that. It’s silly.
kwswan and Don Key Hotey Thank this.
