I came off OTR in 2014 with Montana the only state in lower 48 I didn't visit in a semi truck. Plan is to go OTR end of career, take one more lap of good ol USA and specifically Montana. (Probably never happen but makes my boring local job more tolerable)

Despite being bought out, I got into Millis a couple months ago and couldn’t be happier. Xm, Satellite Tv, fridge, nice trucks. We’re left alone too.

I’m very happy at Millis. Started with them in October 2019. Issued my own truck in December 2019. Issued a brand new truck with 117 miles in June 2020. A T-680 with 1800 watt inverter, refrigerator, XM radio, DirecTV, 22” television.

Just got my new truck a couple weeks back - mostly the same as the '18, but I have noticed a few things scaled back. No upper bunk (I used it for storage, so that sucks) and the pull out drawers under the TV were replaced with smaller shelves. No big deal really, but I miss the larger table space that came with the old setup. For those that may be following this thread or anyone who stumbles upon it that may be considering Millis based on their past reputation, I can say that very little has really changed for the drivers as of yet. The shop mechanics have seen some though regarding their shifts - no more overnight or weekend shop crews. So they haven't wizzed in everyone's cheerios just yet, but who knows how long until that changes.

I like my 2021 better than my 2017 now. It took getting used to it.

Millis transfer may have been bought by heartland express but heartland express has made millis transfer a partner company instead of what they did with Gordon and interstate

I am Running Fire; Robert Hansen kind of pinched his face when he learned my CB handle; the dispatcher Jeff G just laughed; i was doing research, needed for my 2022 Resume, as it is possible i will hook up with TMC Flatbed in Des Moines Iowa. I began with Robert & his wife Gail in 1988, still having the verification certification & photos; since just about all my previous trucking companys, of my 2.7 million miles, have gone under; I was also a west coast turnaround driver/Owner Operator, for Mr Nicks outta Seekonk RI. What a character he was; cut out ALL the middleman, as we did a linehaul Boston/LA in 51 hours, or, you WERE FIRED. Whew did I make an ungodly amount of money doing that for 7 years; i mention this, as Robert Hansen knew about this, inclusive, how the ICC was always after his trucks, (meaning of course we drivers of his 65+ fleet), whereas, I was hired with the promise to be a good boy; within the same week, trucks were governed at 62mph; which made me want to vomit; At least my Honk Kong Wife ran with me; hehehe, she is so smart, passed the CDL test, (called a Chauffeurs license back then), thereof, giving me a "2nd Log Book" to run under; legally; Robert knew what I was doing. I ALWAYS had legal log books; yet, just before he sold out to Transport America, he called me in the office 4 or 5 times; he said, Vito i love you & your just about my best driver; [never late & do not hit stuff & take care of my truck & honest as Daniel Boone], YET, you have run the computer off the chart; it was the 1st time these plug i cpu at the driver seat showed up; i did not know what it was tracking; Robert said my shifting was great, but your idle time is off the scale & your speed gets buried at 60 & off the chart; [hehehe, always make friends with your mechanic; i had him get rid of the governor]. I was rolling between 75/77mph & sometimes what i call "Double Infinity". [when the infinity symbol is turned sideways, with 2, it reads 88mph]. I then questioned, is this why the garage handed me a few blankets? YES, you cannot idle my trucks! I was a little belligerent back then; well, a lot of belligerency, which i blame on me being Italian; I said; Robert, you get me an APU on the side of my truck & it will not be a problem, aye? It only burns a pint an hour, instead of a gallon; He would not do it; then he says; it would not make a difference, you are burning 3 times as much fuel as my other drivers; you fix this & you can still drive; okay i say; i will do my best; i only lasted 3 more weeks, [I of course wanted to support my wife & keep working]. yet, i could not stand driving at JB Hunt speeds; the average is 450/500 miles in 10 hours; Dispatch loved it that i was doing 740/780 miles in 10 hours. One must always treat Dispatch like they are God, whereas even though i did such a great job with delivery, they sent me the warning that my days were numbered; they could not keep my "CPU statistical info" from Robert any longer; Robert took me to dinner with both our wives; hehehe, I knew he was attempting to soften the blow; so i beat him to it at dinner; Oh yeah I know right, (we talk like that in Minnesota), I think I need to quit driving for you now; i don't want you to get into any trouble with the ICC or the DOT. He smiled, well, i was going to fire you; I said no need; its time i move on. Well, thats it with me & Robert Hansen Trucking; Now i question my research; is it possible there is still a company?
