Sitting in Livingston, Mt, been here since yesterday and looks like I be here till 6pm due to wind gusts to 90mph.
I am a rehire of Crete but choice to drive for Shaffer. Last time I drove for Crete was 2008 before going out sick. Did year with Pam Transport to get my CDL back then took 8 months off for carpal tunnel surgery on both hands last year. Been with Shaffer 2 weeks, wishing was with a trainer for few weeks, but...here I am. Been disappointed with orientation or lack of cause doing refer is much different than dry, much more detention, used more load locks in couple weeks than year in dry goods. Still much problems setting temps. But like hauling heavy loads through Grapevine, Cabbage and through Donner in past 2 weeks, LOL.
I gave up much to come back to this company, have to stay out 2 months before coming home cause I live in El Paso, freight too cheap there. But they always treated me right before and always have a phone number to call for questions and someone picks up the phone! The pay is good at Shaffer .65 plus .02 surge pay and .03 mileage bonus which very makeable. Shaffer very much 24 hour company, in 2 weeks driven all hours and legally.
You know it's strong winds when Fed ex doubles parked next to me.
Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

I have never seen these and I cross the Canadian border five days a week. I’ll have to look harder I guess. I have definitely seen the curtains in the windshield though.

It's more of a Mexican ornament. Going to Canada there isn't that many Mexican drivers up there, only Middle Eastern and European, and I don't think they hang ben-wah's off their bumpersRussianBearTruckeR, JohnBoy and mitrucker Thank this.

Here it is the Middle eastern drivers that do it also from the mirrorsIH9300SBA, dwells40, JohnBoy and 1 other person Thank this.

I took a hit last year down about 1 month due to equipment issues and incompetence with getting a driver a working trailer 85k was staying out 10wks only 5to6 days off rinse and repeat, if it wasn't for the faulty equipment would of probably finishes at 92k but otr drivers should be alive 100k in my book... there's a possibly mistake on a dedicated run they offer gonna call Monday to my terminal TN to mi loop claiming .75 to .78/mile over 100k potential...for a dedicated run otr doesn't start at raise rpm? Hopefully our detention goes up 25 after one hourtallguy66 Thanks this.
