Don’t worry, on Feb 28 “he” put a freeze on oil leases. So they’re doubling down on stopping production here for the sake of the climate. I’m sure all the oil we are importing comes from places who do it in a way that’s good for the climate.

The spike in prices, gas and diesel, is hitting the average consumer hard. As in 2008, people have to buy gas to get to work and that money spent on gas will not be spent on consumer goods, new housing and cars. Freight volumes could drop off drastically and there follows the rates. Joe trucker, that overpaid for his equipment a few months ago will be taking anything trying to stay afloat and will further depress rates. The industry will survive and the O/Os that prepared for this will be in position to ride this out and prosper when things turn back around.dwells40, runningman0661, haycarter and 10 others Thank this.

I'll keep doing the same thing I'm already doing. Go from Texas to a sweet spot. Run the sweet spot making two grand a day on half a tank of fuel. Get sick of living in a space the size of a twin mattress, and grab a load home. These prices are only going to make the midterm bloodbath a little bloodier. Blue got rid of Trump, but is this really the four years they expected? LMFAO.
My only worry is a possible ribeye shortage.dwells40, runningman0661, D.Tibbitt and 11 others Thank this. -
There’s currently over 9000 approved oil leases right now…. Time to quit blaming the government and ask the oil companies why they’re not drilling ….

Why would they spend the money to move equipment in and drill when they’ve made it clear they want us all on “green energy” and can kill projects with the stroke of a pen? If you were a major player would you be gung ho to move rigs in and drill given the uncertainty of not having an administration who wants the US to be energy independent?runningman0661, Midwest Trucker, bigguns and 10 others Thank this.

Yeah, problem is, eventually it reaches a point where the customer doesnt want to anymore and they stop buying stuff. Which means the producers make less. Which means they ship less. Which means. Your not hauling, what they ain't shipping.Last edited: Mar 4, 2022
