Ironic, sort of. I grew up near Kalispell, Montana... I learned to drive in horrendous conditions as a teen.
That experience is invaluable, and it's also why I'm parked.
The state says no MT's, makes sense to me. I could deliver, then what? Then I'd be running around in... An MT.
Unless my manager is in my sleeper with a weapon the the back of my head, and he is NOT, then I'm the captain of my ship.

There is a lot to be said for being sensible and responsible. No one is impressed by stupid people running down the road in those conditions . Most of the trucks that end up wrecked in weather like this had an opportunity to stop somewhere.Speedy356, Malt Ball Cult and bzinger Thank this.

I just hung it up at Bellefonte .
Duncannon to here was hit and miss with wet stretches and then it would be snow covered and a whiteout .
The east side of 7th mountain was light snow and just wet ...top the hill on the west side and 100% snow packed all the way down with howling winds and drifting .
I've had enough fun for one day .Cat sdp and Malt Ball Cult Thank this. -
If I remember correctly, a 4 wheeler won a lawsuit against a driver that had stopped on the shoulder due to icy weather. A 4 wheeler lost control of their vehicle crossed a median and hit the parked truck. The lawsuit was based on the precept that if the driver had not attempted to travel in the adverse conditions, he would have not been parked where he was and would not have been there for the car to hit.
I wondered why they did not use the same logic for the 4 wheeler being out??? SMHMalt Ball Cult Thanks this. -
Got a little sunshine at 4:30. Looking pretty nice last half hour. But more snow to come. Heavy at times. Forecast extended from 5pm to 1am storm warning. At same time. Low temp for the night came up a couple three degrees.
Malt Ball Cult Thanks this. -
That's going to open things up for accidents. There is lake effect snow coming in plus strong winds.
I wouldn't drive anywhere until at least tomorrow AM.Malt Ball Cult, WesternPlains and bzinger Thank this.
