The linehaul is easier driving and works out to a much better hourly rate. A lot of folks hate on my company but there's miles and they pay on time.
Central Freight went under, Yellow's going under, seniority is rising![]()

I'm actually in a good spot at yellow if they go under no skin off my back. Don't think they will until they at least pay back their loan but who knowsTexasKGB Thanks this.
-
You’re lucky. Linehaul drivers don’t make squat here.
The city guys with long runs make out the best.road_runner and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Emergency night off. My sump pump disconnected from the ejector pipe.
If you guys never hear from me again, it's because I drowned.
The only question would be whether it was intentional or not.road_runner, Mike2633, Banker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Welp. The ejector pipe snapped clean right where it joins to the pump, so I'm officially in over my head. Calling in a professional.
And after three showers, I'm comfortable in my own skin again. Loldwells40, misterG, road_runner and 5 others Thank this. -
Thought it wasn't a loan? Thought the government got like 30% of the company in exchange for the $700 million they sent to Yellow?
The regionals have always been profitable and it's the only thing that kept YRC afloat as they skimmed off our profits to keep their own stupid company from going belly-side-up.
What grinds my gear is that everyone I worked with under the USF umbrella has been fiercely loyal to their respective companies. Now that everyone is Yellow, all I see is skepticism amongst the drivers and customers.
I had one customer tell me "not sure if my freight is going to be on a Holland truck or a YRC truck anymore. Go about your way, I'm going to give this to FxF".
I am also well positioned to get off of this merry-go-round before it burns to the ground. I think Yellow will not survive the upcoming recession. Not unless they beg the government for another tax-payer funded bailout.misterG, The Shadow, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I like to think they've reached their credit limit, but who knows.Mike2633 Thanks this.

It is a loan. They will start payments 30 September 2024, per this article.
YRC gives government 30% stake in its latest financial bailout
I'm sure the stock was issued with the hope they could purchase it back. If that is separate from the loan repayment, they have a long road ahead to independence.misterG, Mike2633 and road_runner Thank this. -
From a article I read there's another inquiry into this loan (don't know what happened to the first one?). As to the regional coming together that's a whole nother cluster. My pick ups combined with my usual means I'm always coming back full and sometimes missing some, while also some don't even have the pu done. Why do they always put a pu in b4 a bol is ready??misterG, road_runner and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

"But but but... How can we be without money if we still have checks in our checkbook?"misterG, The Shadow, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.
