Was anyone stuck in that mess? Southbound side of I-65 was shut down completely due to 2 fatal accidents. I crossed into Kentucky and it looked like a car ran into the back of an Amazon Prime trailer that was on the shoulder. The car was blown to pieces. Looked like another semi hit the car too. Car had a tarp over it (rest in peace)
Second was a truck fire a few miles north of the crash, 2 trucks were involved. Guessing one caught fire sitting in traffic?

The state police needs to start moving these trucks parked on the shoulder. Especially Amazon. All day everyday tons of them are on the shoulder without triangles out...
Speedy356, drvrtech77, stevep1977 and 4 others Thank this. -
Or the other drivers could watch where they are going instead of texting and facebooking …bryan21384 and jethro712 Thank this.

What I see daily is, Amazon parked on the shoulder and another truck that isn't paying attention comes flying up and at the last second pushes his way over to the hammer lane nearly causing a major wreck.
So ya maybe this car was texting but these trucks still need to be moved along when not broken down. -
It has become common for vehicles to use the shoulder for any type of activity. The shoulder of any Interstate hwy, by law, is to be used only for emergency. At one time, I know the state of Virginia would give a ticket in a "heartbeat" and points went on your DMV record. They would write you up for "disobeying highways signs".Speedy356, drvrtech77, mjd4277 and 3 others Thank this.

Virginia still does it- came down I-81 a couple of nights ago and sure enough,DOT bear was writing up trucks (including an RV with a trailer pulling a car) parked on the shoulder at a rest area outside of the designated parking area!drvrtech77 and Grouch Thank this.
