You say your stomach gives you problems with fast food, yet you are using the half fabricated (canned, frozen, ready to nuke) meals. They have more chemicals and preservatives than a fast food.
This is a simple way of eating a bit stomach friendlier while on the road)

When the pandemic hit and we had the road to ourselves for awhile, I bought a 54 quart freezer chest. It sits on my passenger seat. About 3 months ago it crapped out and I bought a new one, this time a smidgen smaller, a 45 quart model.
Anyway, that has been my answer to the food dilemma. I stock up on frozen stuff. Homemade stuff frozen when I can, but frozen dinners when I can't. That has been a real game changer for me on food options. It isn't a perfect solution, but so much better than not having that stuff available. Besides giving me more food options, it also gives me more flexibility, as I don't have to put what food options are available high on my list of priorities on where I stop.
Overall, I carry the freezer, a coffee pot, a toaster (I always keep bagels and cream cheese on hand) and then a microwave oven. My truck has a fairly big refrigerator built in.
That's been my solution to the food dilemma and I think getting the freezer ended up being the biggest single game changer for me. Simply never want to run without having one with me anymore.Boondock, GYPSY65, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thanks for the advice so far. Seems like I need a George forman grill, instant pot device, and a freezer (would be for meats and vegetables for me probably).
Probably use gril for meat, and instant pot for any number of pasta rice or other dishes (talking about those helper meals or things in bags that have everything except the meat). Throw some vegetables in and meat in and that's probably good.
Just hope it's not going to take too long it's already a struggle to just eat microwave stuff and exercise, clean and still get 7+ hrs sleep. Sometimes I hate that 10 hr break -
And it eliminates 30 min break as well.GYPSY65 Thanks this. -
As mentioned
1. get a fridge if you don’t already have one
2. Grocery shop for real food.
3. Hot meal cooking devices
4. Get a jumprope and a weighted jump rope and download a jumprope workout app.. Crossrope -jumprope lite- there’s plenty of them… it’ll save your life and mindSirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
The biggest game changer for me was spending an hour at home cooking and prepping. It makes portion control and menu planning practically effortless.

When I was OTR in the late 80's and early 90's I carried a small camp stove with me and a couple pots and pans and one of them small outdoor "grills" that use newspaper and grease dripping for fuel. The 12v coolers back then (don't know how they are now) were not the best, so I routed a tube straight from an air conditioner vent to the inlet vent of the cooler on hot summer days. We were not supposed to cook in the truck but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. For some reason the cooking stuff always worked better when the wife went with.

Carry a dirt bike on the catwalk behind the sleeper. This is an excellent way to save thousands of dollars a year by doing the "Dine & Dash" method at meal times.

Next time I come home I'm getting one of those instant pots and eventually getting one of those portable stair climber things for cardio in the winter.
This might sound like an odd question but what's the best place to jump rope? Assuming you're at a truck stop space can be at a bit of a premium.. in front of tractor? Behind trailer? If you've got 2 trucks to either side of you. Sometimes it's a reefer facing the wrong way lol
