Truckers Tailgating

Then they start moving back to the right lane immediately after clearing your bumper.

 

Lol. Good one.

 

That was the first I’ve heard of that one in the video, but nothing much about catching tailgating drivers any other times.

The government haven’t put any effort in clamping down or getting messages out about getting strict on tailgating. Just for speeders, cellphones, weed, drinking and no seat belt. Those laws are already in place but they’re going about the wrong way in stopping collisions.

 

Is having PasSmart uncommon? I always speed up when passing, I don’t want hang around all day trying to pass someone either. If I run out of it, I’ve had it glitch to zero, I just slow down because I hate snail racing.

 

I often do the same.
Make that truck work for every inch, and be the jerk holding up traffic for their 1 mph advantage over me, before I slow down just before I will get cut off.

 

I don't think it is very common because most of them pass and remain at the same speed.

Many that do seem to have it like to cut right in front of me and immediately back down the speed, making me slow down to maintain a safe distance.
When I use PassSmart to pass someone I give lots of room before I back down my speed.

 

There's actually an alternate explanation for this situation. Those of us that have the camera systems that ding us for tailgating can't creep up first and then pull out to pass. We have to pull out to pass when we are still like 4 seconds behind. Camera system and buzzers go apeshite if you try to and creep up first. It's completely stupid. But, it is what it is.

 

Then those rocks that didn't hit the windshield are now dislodged and in the road for everyone else to run over, potentially ending up in someone else's windshield who had no part in those shenanigans. Why not just be a professional about it instead of scorching the whole earth because you're mad at one person's bad driving habits?

 

But what is even more stupid are the drivers that don't have PassSmart and only 1-2 mph more, that change lanes and block traffic so long with many of those cars passing them on the right and squeezing between two closing trucks.

 

Well, some trucks do it not many.

4 wheelers do it because they are using their phones and don't want to be seen. Mostly it's females doing it.
