Essentially, a mobile Gas Station Attendant. Thrilling.

Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
they used to come in and fuel our top lift loader.
I kinda miss running that thing, though it has a heater, the AC didn’t work.Another Canadian driver and CAXPT Thank this. -
If your paid by the load it’s like getting bent over and taking one screwing after another. If your paid by the hour it can be better.RockinChair and CAXPT Thank this.

I got hired to haul fuel in rural Mn. Paid by the hour. Started out in a day cab and am now in a sleeper. I haul gas, diesel, natural gasoline, propane, hot oil, ethanol, and bio diesel. I chose to go into a sleeper since it makes me more flexible. Right now I’m hauling gas and diesel into stations and bulk plants. I’m home every night. Next week it will be bio diesel or hot oil just depending on need. I’ll be staying out a few nights a week then. Where are you at in Iowa?

I mean it definitely depends on the company and type of fuel hauling you'll do. At the company i work for, me and another driver are responsible for 5 stations in one city and another station 3 hours away as well as going a bunch of different farms, quarry's, bulk plants when needed. Paid by the hour in town and by the mile if more than 30 miles so im not losing money waiting. Some days it's 5 hours some days it's 14. Some days the loading rack is empty and some days you wait 1-5 hours to load. Some days the parking lots empty and sometimes the beer truck is on top of your drop. Some days dispatch goofs and most days they're on the ball. Some days four wheelers are courteous and most days they aren't. Every day is a little different so it doesn't get boring. I know my stations inside and out, know managers by name and vise versa. It's really nice to have friendly faces that respect what you do and give you free coffee. I haul 9850 gas, 8700 diesel legally on three axle truck and 3 axle trailer.(it'll hold 11000 of either gas or diesel not legally lol) Other driver hauls a bit more with 4 axle trailer. Get 30-45 mins an unload to sit, relax, and watch the product flow. Don't think I'd trade it for anything except propane cuz it's cleaner lol.
