Drove dry van OTR for 2.5 years but haven't driven in 6 years. Going to Prime orientation mid July. So I have 30 days to prepare for orientation and going out with a trainer to run Reefer... what should I be doing to prepare?
30 days till orientation at Prime, what should I do?

Cloths for at least a week in a duffle bag w/ shower tote-toothbrush paste comb soap shampoo wash rag. ( I keep clothes in duff, use a small backpack to carry cloths and bath stuff for the showers)
At least 100 in cash strictly for being on the truck to start.
( 20's) , and at least 20 in quarters.
Get some bedding - sheet or lite sleeping bag w/ pillow.
Charger for phone and cord.
Make sure you have All your account numbers for bills and there phone numbers so you can pay from your phone while on road.
Remember your not gonna get paid for awhile so try to bank what you can , pay all your current bills before you go

Go ahead and apply for all the endorsements: tanker, hazmat, and doubles/triples.
Later, they will open doors for you.
They are money makers.
If you think you might try to do tanker later--go ahead and also apply for a TWIC card.
The more endorsements you have--the more valuable you are as a driver, and the more potential income you can generate.
$$$$$$$$......
There's some good money in the reefer world--but it's a tough gig.
Say "bye-bye"....to anything close to a regular sleep schedule.

The only other company I am considering is CFI which is dry van but they aren't no touch freight. At 50 I'm not too excited to be unloading trailers again. Ultimately I want to go back to dry van. Crete was good to me but I don't meet their 6 month requirement.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
