I like my automated, but we have the manual option. Nice to lock it in 11th gear when going through 40-55 zones.
Leaving it in auto causes it to constantly shift from 12th to 11th every time I hit the pedal. 22 Cascadia..

Anyone pick up at Donatos Pizzeria in Columbus OH?
Load plan says it's a preload but this would be a first picking up a preload from a office building.
Delivers to a cold storage near Chicago but no appointment has been booked yet. Just another small 400 mile run.
These loads must be all the old loads no one wanted to do in the area cause the load numbers are all old.
048**** numbers are the latest if we aren't already in the 049****, but last load was a 046**** and this one is a 045**** so booked a very long time ago.Lonesome Thanks this. -
...or maybe it will give you the blues.....Bumper and Speed_Drums Thank this.

Good thing I showed up an hour early cause it's a live load. Nice place but a tad tight to back into.

I had a ‘22 auto at Schneider. On one hand it uses technology to try to shift for the best gas mileage at the given speed. On the other hand I think it worked properly only at around 60000 lbs. It was alright at 80k and couldn’t figure out what gear to use MT. Your gas mileage will be at the whim of the software geeks. However now you can eat while driving!!!!Itsbrokeagain Thanks this.

Working for a mega sounds awful lot like being a dealership tech. When I worked for BMW/Mercedes, the dudes making $15/hr would get all the good paying gravy work. Us B or A mechanics? The hard to diagnose jobs, the ones that didn't pay a hoot for warranty or left over jobs sitting on the lot for two weeks. But we made $35/hr.
At the end of the week it was a wash. We all made the same $ more or less...the cheap employee got a lot of hours, and us well paid ones rode the 40hr guarentee. Dispatch used to pre-assign our work, I used to ignore them and drop work tickets back in the pool to be able to thumb thru the files on the computer to get the good paying jobs. I got a few speaking-to's about that.
Sounds like the same thing in trucking. A select few get the gravy loads with lots of miles, and dispatch gives some of you experienced guys loads that don't make sense or just a bunch of short loads no one wants just to cover their end.newbietrucker91, Speed_Drums, Geekonthestreet and 1 other person Thank this. -
Note my nickname. I got that after posting here that in retaliation for needing a few hours (HOURS) off at a specific time for a conference call with my son and a teacher, I was given the two-stop shag garbage.Itsbrokeagain, Lonesome, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.
