Found an air leak coming from a small hole in the air dryer cannister. This one is only about two years old but it is absolutely wrecked.
Don't forget to change your air dryer annually!

I change mine twice a year, September and March. More often if necessary. Cheap insurance.
Rideandrepair and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Aren't these like $30 bucks? I do 2-3 times a year

Pfft.
Don’t change that filter.
Especially if you drive a white volvo or cascadia, gotta have that popping air off every 15 seconds along with a reefer with no muffler, and rattling door.Coronado2020, Rideandrepair, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this. -
Every 50K miles it should be changed.

Yeah, type this into your search engine of choice:
How to change an Air Dryer Filter
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Be aware that it is NOT a good idea to use the trick of putting a screw driver through the filter if it's stuck on. If you do it will spill that desiccant into your air system and you'll at the very least have to change your purge valve but probably tye entire air dryer system.Rideandrepair, Keepforgettingmypassword, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this.

Thanks for the post. Ive logged almost 200k miles on this used truck (790k miles total) and ive never changed it. Just didn't know about it. Still learning years later. Luckily my air system has no leaks and stays pressurized even overnight so maybe thats why I haven't had issues yet.
Ill be sure to have one ordered to home for my next time off in mid Aug. Maybe ill bump this thread if I have problems taking it off haha
Also have coolant filter and def filter on my todo list as I bet they've never been changed during the life of this truck.Rideandrepair, Siinman and RunningAces Thank this. -
#### your lucky I’ve yet to have a #### truck hold air overnight. Literally can fix a leak and it does great for one night after that back to loosing pressure overnight.Keepforgettingmypassword, Rideandrepair, bzinger and 3 others Thank this.
