Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

SSB has gotten pissed at me for ragging on him for staying with a mega. He’s smart enough not to go to Hunt. But that would be entertaining on here also.

Back in around 1994 or so I was at the meat plant in Worthington, Mn. looking for an empty trailer after dropping my loaded one. Drove around the plant looking for the trailer number I'd been given, not there but there was an empty in the back lot. Being pre cell phone days, found a pay phone, called dispatch, gave them the trailer number. Dispatcher asked for the number again, told him again. He said something was off, told me to call back in 15 minutes. When I called back found out this trailer had been reported stolen 4 years previous. Sure enough, pulled the paperwork out of the bill holder, registration, inspection, etc were all 5 years old. It had apparently sat there for the whole 4 years.

 

Guess my time didn't reset when I left the company for a month.

Got a letter congratulating me on 3 years with Shaffer.

 

Anyone heading to Meijer in Lansing with a frozen load be prepared to sit. Been here over 24hrs. Appointment was 1130 yesterday, didn't get a door until about 9 this morning. Been short staffed. Not sure when they'll get up to speed. When I checked in yesterday they had rolled over 20 drivers from the day before. This morning they had 19 from yesterday.

 

I used to hate going there with anything. They were always slow and lazy.

 

Yeah. Been awhile since I'd been here with anything besides bananas, but even those took about 3hrs

 

I’ve only ever taken dry loads there. They still were a PITA
