If my memory is correct, I have to ask why did you not give yourself anyway leeway from the date of your stated hometime to the start date of your new company?

Because the whole theme of this thread has been that Shaffer/Crete does not ever do anything right lol. So you should have known that they would probably mess things up with getting you home, probably not out of spite but out of incompetence lol. You had to have seen that coming.

If I were you I would have told Shaffer to get you home on a certain date and then not started orientation with your new company until 3 days later. If that meant you couldn't give a full 2 weeks notice (or however long you gave them) and instead just gave them a 10 day notice or something, so be it. And that way if Shaffer screwed up and got you home late, you have 3 days leeway. And if they did get you home on time, then you just get a nice 3 day weekend.

Don't mean to be rude or anything to you in this post. That's just what I would have done. It just doesn't seem smart to me to cut it so close between your get home date and your orientation start date.

I gave them the choice. I could have turned the truck in last week or I could run until Thursday or Friday (morning) this week...they said run. The problem is, a total lack of communication between the weekday dayshift and the weekend shift. Multiple people were told last Friday that this Friday was my last freight moving day and the truck would be parked in Deland on Saturday morning. But that never got put in the computer. I figured I would be shuttling shag loads out of Marietta all week like a local driver. Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning should be enough of a window for any reputable company to aim for...but this is Creaffer...not known for their organization and ability to plan
