Does Magnum do your physical or do you get your own before orientation. Also how soon after starting do they allow a passenger if you have a few years experience?

Hi smokey12. I'm just getting started myself, so I'm not sure about the passenger policy. As for the physical, you can just get your own before orientation.smokey12 Thanks this.

Your choice on the physicalsmokey12 Thanks this.

I read somewhere you have to wait six months to take a passenger, . Maybe that is for new drivers and not experienced.

Here's a question for you guys. What is the difference between layover and detention pay, and how much are we paid in each situation?
-
Layover is 180 per 24 hours with no load
Detention is if you sit over 2 hours at a shipper receiver $18.00 per hour after the first 2 gotta give them 2 hoursZangief Thanks this. -
OK, so the way to look at it is "Layover" is for when Magnum keeps us waiting for more than a day, and "Detention" means that we were detained at a shipper or receiver more than 2 hours. Got it. Thank you radioshark!

Love light freight. All of 12,000 lbs of some sort of seed. Delivering in Kearney, NE tomorrow morning, then home after that. Still a few hours drive but at least I'm not back tracking a couple hundred miles. It's also PM time for my truck the next time I'm going to the terminal. Almost 300k on my truck and still going strong. Gonna catch some sleep here at Bosselman's in Grand Island then heading home after delivery for some well deserved time off. See you guys next week!

Layover also applies if you have too much time on a load, or "in transit" layover. Much more common, at least for me. I've had 21 days of layover this year, and only three were because Magnum had no load for me. It's an extreme rarity here to be sitting more than 24 hours without any type of load. And those 3 days were because of a computer error. 1 day because of a botched load, and the other 2 because apparently my hometime was marked as completed, when it wasn't, so i wasn't on anyones load boards to be planned out. I almost always have my next load the day before i deliver my current one, and if i don't, i just call my DM and ask about the situation. Never had an issue.
