That's 25 days if diesel refining ceased and no more fuel was produced. What is the normal stockpile? 40 or 45 days? Average all year has been less than 30 days. It's a slightly misleading article.

That's how I perceived it - you can fool with numbers and graphs all day long to create a 'panic article' for clicks.Brettj3876, D.Tibbitt, Jubal Early Times and 6 others Thank this.

Agree with some of your points but increased.tornadoes? Haven't heard that one. Also China wants zero Covid, u mean the China virus? They want it gone? How about more money printed in the past two years than ever to pay for all these govt checks and student loan forgiveness. Sure does suck for those that had the GI bill. The FED admitted today they are putting the US into a recession in order to combat inflation..whatever it takes. They can't be this stupid...or can they..all intentional.HoundDog7, Eldiablo, Trucker61016 and 3 others Thank this.

The tornadoes haven't been huge, town flattening things but they've done a number of crop yields and grain bins.
Zero covid means extreme lock downs anytime anyone sneezes, it's doing a number on both the Chinese economy and global supply chains.
As for free money - it's been going on for longer than 2 years. Current deficit spending is below 2019 level, I'll also point out that deficits dropped from 2013 to 2016, where they began to rise before ballooning in 2020 before dropping in 2021 and 2022. -
Well if we didn't have all our stuff made in China including 70% of our pharmaceuticals we might be in better shape there. 50% of our money in circulation now was printed in the past two years. Poor China..sorry not much sympathy here for them, nothing against the Chinese themselves, great people under a communist regime..Didn't know that about the tornadoes...
Hopefully diesel prices won't go up too much..but pretty sure we got a rough ride ahead. -
Yes, they actually are the last hold out on ZERO COVID strategy. When we fly in there, their people are wearing paper suits, gloves, booties, N95 masks and face shields. We are placed in hotel isolation if we layover. It's actually so crazy to see the way they are acting vs. the rest of the world.
Europe is wide open, and like the US, you can easily forget that COVID ever was a thing. The rest of Asia is open, although some do have vaccine and testing mandates before arrival if you'd like to leave the hotel. -
A lot of lay people are talking about diesel fuel shortages (25 days left of diesel fuel reported about 7 days ago) but i do not see much talk on trucking forums?
-
Because we know the supply is being constantly replenished.
Domestic oil production and refining are both at pre pandemic levels and diesel supplies are well within the 5 year average.Jubal Early Times and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
