At least you will load inside on the floor and not in the pit docks that they use for flatbeds. In the pits you can’t really do any strapping while they load. On the floor you can, that should speed it up a bit.

Those elevators are a pain. I pulled out of Joliet last week. Load went to Otis in Baton Rouge. Had a strict 0600 delivery appointment. Made it 05:40, and promptly sat there til 08:30 before they ever even got there. I pull a flat 53ft conestoga, so the loading wasn't bad, but they didn't let me strap inside

@supersnackbar I heard that. I loaded there last Saturday. I got there an hour before my appointment, and it was an hour after my appointment when they had me back in. Had to roll my curtain forward before I backed in (made it flare out), and I bet that dock is tight when you CAN see where the back of your trailer is. It was almost impossible with the curtain flared out. I still don't know how I didn't tear something up lol. I'm like you, I don't wanna do the load very much
Lonesome, supersnackbar and baha Thank this. -
Been fighting winds since I left St. Louis Friday. Was nuts at the shipper Saturday. And I fought keeping the tarps in line all day yesterday. Now, I get between WY POE west of Rapid City and Gillette in a parking area. Road is closed to light, high profile vehiles. I am not sure what the threshold is considered a light vehicle(I am just under 60k gross) but there were some serious pucker moments (3 out of 5 on the sphincter clinch scale)...so I pulled into a parking area and chilling for a bit. The warning goes until 13:00, so I hope mother nature is on schedule.
Itsbrokeagain, Speed_Drums, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this.
