    It's interesting how the manner in which people are murdered are viewed.

    Death by knife or edged instrument = All evil
    Bludgeoned or strangled = Close second
    Drown or burned = Just terrible
    Shot or Explosives = Not as terrible
    Auto or something = Well that happens

    They're all dead though. Was it a hate crime? No the person ended the other persons life with joy and kindness.

    We did some work on the perimeter lighting and small edition at San Quentin once. You're not supposed to have any contact with the inmates, but they still talk to you when they come out for exercise or their outside time.

    Some are just regular dudes.

    This one guy was articulate, seemed like a nice guy really. He's in for double homocide, second degree, 15 years.

    Came home, found his nag and his neighbor tuned up on coke, full scrog in his bed. Emptied his .357 into both of them.

    He says," I have 14 months left. I could have been out 5 years ago. Every parole hearing they ask if I have any remorse or regret, and I tell them I regret not putting six more shots in them."

    We all kind of chuckle. He says," They can't give me any more time for it, so I tell the truth."

    Fry squirrel, brown enough flour to make gravy, throw squirrel and browned flour plus just enough water to make gravy in pressure cooker. results tender meat delicious gravy, ladle over rice.

    I’ve worked with a couple of guys with similar stories— one did 10 years for putting a 7mm mag bullet in the forehead of a guy that was tuning up his sister and bragging about it in a bar— other brained a guy with a shovel for stealing his irrigation water, think he did 7 years—both of them were good hands that I’d be happy to be around anytime, just don’t want to F with them to much
