Yep an annual ritual around here. They should all be in town by Friday, camped out at Memorial Park & partying Friday night before getting up for the rodeo parade through downtown Saturday morning.
Some of the best food you ever tasted at the BBQ cookoff then it's time to rodeo. -
Ive seen them around myself. They'll be on the news sometime in a week or so.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
Hey young man, have you finished your homework?
-
-
What's even more fun, is when they all leave houston.
You won't have advanced warnings about it. Do you get any advanced warning about wrecks on us59 in the country areas? -
They filter out of town at different times so not as bad as when they are all converging on us at the same time. Some head home after the parade some will end up staying until the last day of the rodeo.
The really messed up road is Loop 610 south going past Reliant stadium/Astrodome. Tons of congestion for the next 3-1/2 weeks. -
I wondered if they they all rode back home or trailered them
FriedTater Thanks this. -
All trailered, usually too saddle sore to consider riding them home. Been on a couple of the Saltgrass trailrides when I was a teenager & was pretty whipped when it was over.
-
Let me get this straight. It's called a trail ride, but takes place on the highway.
[Puts on flak jacket]
Aren't cowboys supposed to be tough guys? Aren't horses better suited to "off-roading?"
