If government wouldn't print money and give it out left and right we'd be in a better shape. Now everyone expects free money and doesn't want to work.

yeah thats the other thing this dealer wanted 250 for the hose and I found one for 125, the price mark up crazy, then they want to charge 90 for delivery when ups might charge 25, dealers our such crock of garbage and they wonder why drivers be backyard mechanics

There’s not an EGR cooler in North America for a DD16 and no eta from Detroit.
Had to buy an aftermarket one.

Last time I had a trans cooler hose go it was on back order for two weeks . The shop just bypassed it and said watch transmission temps 3 weeks later we hit the hose installed. This was on a 2009 cascadia in 2015 . Some stuff has always been on back order lol

Sounds like op needs to be more resourceful and go get a a hose made or find an aftermarket part from fleetpride etc...

Can't believe guys run this way. At the mercy of a shop.

    D.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Doesn't take Stephen Hawking to see, there's no money in repairing old trucks, we need to sell new ones. Having a hose made isn't as easy as it was in the 80s. I took a worn hose from some farm equipment and the car parts place couldn't do it. All they could do is sell a new one in the box that they naturally didn't have. Even got rid of the machine, liability, they claimed. While I don't think these dealers maliciously keep the parts hidden, there's no money in inventory either, and rather than stock these parts, it's cheaper to order them on a "as needed" basis. Too bad that system was overwhelmed before it got started.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I blew a hydraulic hose on my moffett a few weeks ago while out in the field. Turned out there was a Napa in the nearest town that still makes hoses. The kid behind the counter (who was all of 20 years old) had me a new hose made in about ten minutes. I was impressed!
