Truck stops with good food

Not at a truck stop, but Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken location at 2943 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133 (east side of Memphis off of I-40) is a longtime favorite of mine.

The best way to get there from either direction is to take the Appling Road north exit. Appling turns into Brother Blvd and curves around to N Germantown Pkwy. Turn right and it’s up on the right, next to Waffle House. Park in the curb lane (far right lane which turns into a right turn lane a couple of hundred feet ahead) and no one will hassle you, at least in the time it takes to get a to-go order. I’m usually headed west, so I go across the Mississippi River and park in one of the many truck parking areas to eat it.

 

A & A truckstop in Jackson,OH has good at a decent price recommend this place for a good meal.

 

I have seen people walk in there, wrinkle their nose and walk out.... yeah it looks a little dated.... they missed out on the grub.

 

I’ve been told that about The Little Nashville Truck Stop in Nashville, IL. Their loss.

 

Any truck stop that you can walk to a good restaurant

 

True A & A truckstop is outdated but food is good and decent price

 

They have the best southern vegetables.

Quik Trips in Tomah&Mauston Wi

One minor correction. Quik Trip will be impossible to find in Tomah and Mauston.
They are a different company. Kwik Trip, or Kwik Star in any state that has QuikTrip stores. Years ago I came down with strep, and had to visit the VA in Tomah. I spent a few days in the sleeper, waiting for the antibiotics to start working, and for the fever to break.
