Did you ever call my agent ?
-
Yes, and she just said it's the best idea for my brother to wait till he has 2 years on CDL. And for me to stay away from adding him to my policy
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
99% of large carriers will require a minimum of $1 million. I have $250,000 cargo, plus an additional $250,000 excess cargo policy that one of the companies that I do business with requires.kros Thanks this.

Appreciate it!

Hm.
I paid $14500 last year on my insurance..
Though I added a trailer, and I can swap one from commercial insurance and if one’s parked with no driver it’s in a non commercial policy as it’s not hauling, hood for 100 mile even pulling an empty trailer, so I’ll start it and move it once a month or so.
But if one’s down i swap them around. -
That’s odd, before I sold my 1994 Pete, and I had purchase my 2014, I told my insurance agent what I was in the process of doing. What I wanted to do was to park the 94 and start driving the 2014 until until I found a buyer for the 94. She said I would have to add the 2014 to the policy along with a new premium, in other words, paying 2 premiums when I only drive 1 truck. She said there’re individuals that have 2 trucks and 1 Policy and switch back and forth and it’s not acceptable. The underwriters caught on to it. So now they wanted me to produce a “Bill of Sale” for the 94 before they can add/switch my current active policy to the 2014.
Lucky me @staceydude contacted me right in the middle of this situation(a blessing in disguise). He bought my 94 and I activated my 2014 soon as I showed the Bill of sale.
Let me add, I couldn’t get a non-commercial policy for a parked truck to switch/swap trucks as you have stated. I have Northland for insurance. Maybe there policies are more strict than others. -
Had no issue parking my 99 when I bought my 2016. Switched over plates to new one, maybe that had something to do with it? Had the 99 on for fire and theft for about a year before I sold it.
Judge, kros and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
I was looking for loops holes and the agent is by the book. She says it straight how it is and she’s not going to lose her license if something goes wrong. I give her credit for that. She’s straight up and explains into detail why and what could happen.
At one point I was going to produce a fake bill of sale just so I wouldn’t be stuck with 2 premiums. I also thought about when the new buyer or buyers are interested in purchasing the 94, there going to want to TEST drive it and I’m going to need Bobtail insurance to be in the streets.Last edited: Mar 5, 2023

I’ve got 2 trucks on non commercial policy, that 94 pete and 16 pete.
Both parked, redoing the 94 when i’ve got time, and the 16 has been in KW shop for right at 3 months.Diesel Dave and kros Thank this.
