I think Stevens has a walk away lease.
    However, read your contract.
You might be responsible for wear and tear exceeding your
    maintance account.
I returned my truck and the charges exceeded my maintance account and took my last 3 trips to settle, about $4200.
But, at least I had the revenue and the maintance account to settle up.
They will get their money through the courts if you owe.
    Good luck.

I have to agree, Stevens never let my questions go unanswered, even when you e-mail them, 24hrs you get a phone call or a reply. thats why I chose Stevens.

I long for the good old days,I am glad I am no longer driving. I would end up in jail with the things we used to do.

Every body thats complainN (CryN) about being home u choose the wrong career. Thats what being a OTR truck driver is all about (Delivering the goods) and rackn up millions of miles under your belt (CANT TAKE THE HEAT GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN) YOU GOT TO BE DEDICATED TO WHAT U DO!!!

Sounds right Mojosxpress. Like construction, don't take the job if you hate hammers and the outdoors and both jobs have tons of dopes telling you what to do. lol

I don't see too many complaints about not being home here. Paying companies for the "privilege" of driving for them yes and the "occasional" lie about minor things like miles and income.

Also, there are many of us million milers out here that have never stayed out longer then ten days BTW.

Everyone has to do their first 12 months of driving somewhere, the pay will suck anywhere, Stevens is as good a place to learn the biz as anywhere else. And no, I'm not a Stevens fan, but there good at training. My 2c.

It's people that work for companies like Stevens and Swift in the first place that get me. How can anybody voluntarily put themselves through that kind of abuse?

Being an OTR trucking is NOT all about being gone for 5,6,7 8 weeks at a time and then getting a pitiful 2 or 3 days off and being forced to do it all over again.

I'm willing to bet I make more money being home a full 8 days per month than a veteran Swift or Stevens driver (if there is such a thing) that runs ragged in a 62 MPH POS and gets home for 3-4 days a month if he's lucky. The Difference? I'm a name, not a number where I work. And the people that run my outfit treat me like a human, with human needs, not a piece of freight.

Go make your millions of miles at Stevens, I'll drive half as much, be home more, make just as much if not more money, and have a SOCIAL LIFE on top of it.

I really wish you Big Company promoters would stop filling people's heads with lies. It doesn't matter if a slow, low-paying turd truck is labeled Stevens, Swift, Werner, Prime, CFI, NFI, FFE, Covenant or Whatever, It is still a slow, low paying turd truck.

Go to a PRIVATE TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL. Get Student loans through the Government just like college, not a Swift or Stevens Shark loan with Quadruple Interest rates. And repayment of loans is based on income

It is CHEAPER, the training is much better than you will receive at any company school, and you will not be married to a trucking company with tuition hanging over your head. If you get fired quit or can't hack it for whatever reason, at least they can't garnish your check for tuition.

At least you will have a choice of which bottom scum outfit to start with...
heck, you may even find one that you can tolerate for a year.
