Thats maybe what i thought.... im hearing 29 terminals are shutting down. we went from hiring like crazy and record numbers to closing terminals and furloughing drivers. P&D bids just got alot worse around here

This is what keeps me up at night with Yellows new restructuring. They call it Change of Operations or the Chop. I hope you land on your feet while I wait out what will happen to us.

This changes everything then; If it's 4a start time, then that means, for all practical purposes, you've got to be up at 3a, so you're really working "late third shift" into 1st shift........

Not worth it, even for a 4 day workweek.
    Strike one.

Now, IF it really was 8 hours, so then you'd be off by 12p, AND a 4 day work week AND close to 2000 gross, THEN it would still be a good gig IMO.

Like I said it's not for everyone but it works for me. That's all that matters. I would rather be up early than start at 10am and not be home till after my kids are in bed. I also could bid a 5/8 city route and be done by 2 or 3 everyday and make the same money but I don't really want to work 5 days.

Whatever works for, brother. Not my cup of tea, but if it works for you, drive on.
    Well done

They aren't needed. The other centers already have more than sufficient personnel in those areas. But they'll need city drivers to pick up the work being farmed out to Phoenix and Flag.

If I hadn't hurt my knee I’d still be running a hand cart. I liked starting early and getting done by noon-1. Now I start at 10:30pm lol.
