especially Champlain. I crossed back at many of the crossings, pulling an empty flatbed, most didn't ask for it...the one rent-a-cop in Champlain almost had a problem with me because his attitude and arrogance almost got him pulled thru his sliding window...then I would be invited to spend some time at the gray bar hotel...but he calmed down before I got that pissed, then when I went to pay the user fee to get back in this circus, they saw what officer I had to deal with, tossed the form in the trash and said to have a nice day.

I never thought of that. Luckily I have a Garmin.

My dispatch sent me some papers to print out, but I'm not sure where I can print them. I'm at the Wilton Travel Plaza on I-87, north of Albany. Any thoughts on where I can print from a PDF in an email?

You're right. I had to scan my BOL and email it to dispatch. They emailed me back some forms that I have to find a place to print them so I can cross the border.

They may have to fax them to the truckstop, which depending on how many pages, could be a sizeable investment.

The last place I worked, I asked dispatch to fax some paperwork to the truck stop and he's said it's 2023–we don't own a fax machine. Hopefully my new company does. I guess I'll find out in the morning. It's only 7 pages

If you’re going to be doing it a lot the easiest thing to do is get a small printer for your truck. Saves a lot of time looking for a place to print your manifest.

True. It's not a bad idea to have one anyway, but especially for this border crossing paperwork. I'm going to find one on Amazon. I'm sure they're cheap. Looks like I can get dispatch to fax the papers to the truck stop this time, so I should be ok today.

One word...Walmart. I bought a Cannon all-in-one printer/scanner 5+ years ago and it has been bouncing around various trucks and still prints like a champ. Plus I can find ink for it at any Walmart (which is almost as expensive as the price of a new printer). It's even handy when you get one of those shippers that only gives you 1 copy of a b/l that your company and the receiver have to share.

    Redtwin Thanks this.
