Applied to Werner today as well.
austinmike Thanks this. -
What happened to those smaller companies you used to be interested in? AMX, etc.
-
Amx won’t even let me go through their school. Recruiter was not the friendliest one. Freymiller has Florida blocked off.
austinmike Thanks this. -
You shouldn't need to go through their school now that you've already graduated from another 160hr school. They might even be more interested in you now. Forgive me if I've misinterpreted the situation. Perhaps they only hire drivers with zero experience through their own school or something.

As of the time of this writing -- that's actually correct.

I really hate to see what became of the start for you.
Look at it this way you wont have to be in a mid-roof top bunk for 3-6 weeks with your trainer.
Trying to look at the bright side here.
Have you looked into Abilene motor express, Averitt, Wilson Logistics or Ashley Furniture, Marten I know they hire out of Fl but not sure if they do any training. I know Schneider has a good tanker program from what I've heard. Western Dairy does a training/apprentice tanker program. Millis which we've talked about briefly.
Regardless of coming on to IRT you can always call for any questions, advice, or help while out while your out on the road.
Your first year to be honest is the biggest thing to get under your belt accident and ticket free. Then your options open up even more. Even 6 months will open a lot more doors. I know it can be disheartening but maybe its just not the right fit for you.Last edited: Jun 11, 2023

Re: post #328, above....
Marten Transport does not do any driver training; minimum 6 months req'd prev exp, to have any hope of getting on there.
Western Dairy Transport does take rookies--but it's highly likely that he's nowhere close to any of their hiring areas.
As a Schneider veteran, myself--I could only recommend their tanker program in good conscience to someone who's already a veteran of the Army or the Marines (& with an honorable discharge, of course)...and also with active duty experience.
I personally have never seen Averitt take rookie drivers either....but maybe that's changed.
The others mentioned may be worthwhile possibilities. In the current trucking market, however, I think holding ones' breath is generally a bad idea.

I was a Schneider tanker tanker, with experience when i went there.
Went to Houston for training during April and it was 90 on a good day, up to 100 + outside.
Several bailed because the heat.
I’d recommend too
A little sweat never hurt anyone.
