You have had your answers, but I would pose a couple questions.
Why would you put a bottle of booze in your toolbox, opened or unopened, unless you are planning to open and drink it?
What does being OTR or the directions you travel in have to do with anything?
Is it legal to carry a bottle of alcohol on the truck in a toolbox?

I agree with all the comments. I am going to really emphasize @D.Tibbitt comment in post 11. This one does happen a lot. I was talking to a safety critter a while back and she actually sent me via email the video another company driver sent her of a driver buying beer and taking it into the truck in violation of company policy. That driver was not fired, but was warned about any future violations of company policy regardless of what it was would get him fired.
If you drive for a mid to large company remember there are many eyes watching you. Also, remember everybody has a video camera these days!
If this does not apply to you then ignore this comment. Still why haul something that can be bought almost anywhere you stop for the night?Stonehjl, Another Canadian driver, Hatt91 and 2 others Thank this. -
Surprise. First time I ever heard that. Good to know if I decide to start drinking again. That’s quite an important loop hole.Another Canadian driver, jamespmack and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.

I suppose you could carry non-alcohol beer if you just really want a beer. But, frankly, I think I’d refrain. As some NFL players recently learned, a simple $250 indiscretion ended up costing them a couple of million.
Are you willing to risk your job over a bottle of hooch?Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
At any time, anyone in management hears anything about anything adult, from alcohol to porn, connected to your name, you will be fired.
Therefore, keep your business YOUR business.Stonehjl, Crude Truckin', Another Canadian driver and 8 others Thank this. -

Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Haven’t read about him taking a hammer to someone’s truck or parking it on the tracks for a train yet so that’s a minor win. If I really wanted a drink I’d do this. I drink hard liquor (as a man should) so I’d go get a Yeti or some non see through well sealing water bottle like it and fill it from home or somewhere discreet and just have it and a coffee mug I could pour a drink of it into. If Someone wants to report me because I’m in my truck drinking an unknown substance out of an out of a coffee mug then have at er.Another Canadian driver and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.
