    My original post was in regards to the tanker market, that's pretty much all I know. This week is gangbusters and so is next week. But we have had weeks that I've had to sit a driver home a day. Rates in my market are still strong, but good grief, TX and some customers in the NE are getting just down right stupid. We are competing with carriers in TX offering $3.00 a mile or under! We do very little broker work and we are very picky who we work with. I've seen brokers on a bulk load board offering less then $3.00 mile all in.......I'll deadhead a truck for that. At least the tanker market isn't as cheap as van work and thankfully the barrier to entry is still high enough to keep the garbage out.

    I’m in Texas we have been found 3.75-4.25 right now ++. It has been a very up and down year in the gulf coast. Georgia, Illinois, and New Jersey has been more consistent than the gulf coast. Don’t even get me started on stuff going out to the west coast.

    So what makes you so special?? Why do old truckers think looking down on new drivers makes you look intelligent?? It doesn't it makes you a jerk ....maybe you older drivers could learn respect and manners and stop being so arrogant....look in the mirror instead of pointing at new drivers...afterall the whole reason we even have regulations is because you older drivers abused the hours and ran three logbooks...maybe you don't know as much as you think you do....
