It isn’t like that everywhere. At my terminal we have freight up to our ##### and I’ve been hitting 60 hours every week for the last 2 months.

Some drivers here like @USMC 3531 have been able to make it work at Saia, but I personally couldn’t tolerate the way they do things. Estes is more laid back and of those two would be a better fit for me.misterG, austinmike, ducnut and 4 others Thank this.

Hopefully....somewhere...someone will find an 11th-hour solution.

Posted this on a different thread but this seems relevant to repost. I work for Yellow
I was BSing with my dispatcher today. His eyes lit up and asked me if I was going to the company cookout.
When? Today?
- not sure, but it's coming up fast. It's a big going away party. I hope you make it.
Who's going away is it?
- Every single one of us. So bring your own food cause I doubt our company has any money left to fund it.Space Truckin, Mike2633, FerrissWheel and 15 others Thank this. -
I bet other LTL companies mouths are watering over the prospect of yrc's demise .
Mike2633, austinmike, jason6541 and 8 others Thank this. -
Yellow controls 10% of all LTL freight. So yeah. It's going to be a mad dash for accounts and drivers.
-
Don’t count in it. We had a couple customers call us and when they got the rate, said that’s double what yrc charges. We don’t pull it if it’s not profitable.Mike2633, misterG, austinmike and 11 others Thank this.
-
Yellow keeps the rates artificially low. It's no wonder our operating ratio is 100.8%.
Once we collapse expect shipping rates to adjust.Mike2633, misterG, austinmike and 7 others Thank this. -
When 10,000 LTL trucks disappear from the scene in the blink of an eye those customers will experience a price correction.... upwards. Yeah other LTL carriers are licking their chops like a hungry dog.Space Truckin, Mike2633, misterG and 14 others Thank this.
