That sounds good on paper, but 4 people working in the bay would be $80 or so an hour in labor cost. Wonder how far the other $120 an hour would go toward benefits and water and soap and equipment and building payment and land payment?

Set up a dedicated washout lane if you are in an area that will have a lot of reefer traffic. Reefer divers need to wash out regularly and want to get it done as fast as possible. If you do it right, you can turn many more trucks over and make more money doing washouts than full truck washes.
As for long waits, I'm not going to sit in line and waste time unless I have no other options. If I just want a tractor wash and there is a long line? Forget about it; I'll get it done somewhere else. If I need a washout before my next load, then it depends on my options. If there is a long line at one place and no line at the wash across the street or another option on my route that I think I can get through faster, that's where I am going to go. Time is money.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
