Amazon drivers are doing a UPS driver’s workload for half of what a UPS driver makes.
I wonder how many of them actually know that.

I would imagine from the looks of many that they aren’t eligible for UPS employment.
Also looking at the beat up vans they’d likely fail a driving test.Last edited: Jul 24, 2023

With so many of YRC's customers having diverted their shipments after the threat of strike how does YRC expect to stay alive with very little revenue being generated?ducnut, Siinman, Old_n_gray and 2 others Thank this.

Layoffs. Word has it we laid off 800 drivers with 200 more getting the boot tomorrow (or today if you are in the Eastern time zone).
I was called in to work the dock for 5 hours since all of our dock casuals also got laid off. We sent out 40 bills on three linehaul trucks. Usually it's 400+ bills on 12 or more linehaul drivers.
So yeah. That's how that's going.BennysPennys, MACK E-6, thekidsixer and 9 others Thank this. -
What about your 8 hour guarantee ?

I’m at a end of the line terminal in the midwest and yesterday we picked up a whopping 8 billls. Generally it’s 60 on the low side and as high as 110.
One saving grace at least for now is we are still getting a decent amount of inbound freight and that’s because Omaha is backlogged still. That will only last so long.BennysPennys, Siinman, JoeyJunk and 7 others Thank this. -
They don't honor it if you are on layoff status.BennysPennys and Siinman Thank this.
