What if they kept everything… union included. The workforce is lighter, less assets, less staff. Clearly something is going on in the background, but somethings up.

There is nothing left to say
Rumor is they are restructuring under Yellow Logistics but with no customers shipping freight and no P&D drivers picking up freight there is nothing left to discuss.
In the words of the I990s Italian head soccer coach running the German National team; Giovanni Trabatoni.
"You've played like bottles empty. I have finished".
It's the end -
Go to 'other news' and read my latest post.

well i feel the pains. i worked at a garage for like nearly 10 years, and one day, the owner shuts it down, and sells out, and even after many times telling me, he was going to turn it over to me (for a price of course), he reneged on that.....and sold it out from under me. after 10 years of building HIS business for MY future.
where do i go? what do i do?
this was my final "loyalty to the company" promise.
NO MORE LOYALTY
that's pretty much when i got into trucking.
the old saying, "one door closes, another opens" was true for me.
after 48 years as a trucker i survived closings, slowdowns, layoff's, you name it.......i survived them all.
you WILL as well.
sadness....???
sure, but better times WILL BE ahead
it's how we handle adversity is what makes us, and builds our character.Still undecided, JoeyJunk, ducnut and 6 others Thank this. -
What is there left to say. Yellow has $100+ million in reserve. But we are burning $10 million a day without any revenue. Come Monday or Tuesday we will cease to exist.

Why would anybody say no to an $11 an hour raise?
hope not dumb twucker, bzinger and Cardfan89 Thank this. -
The same reason I don't respond to the email from "23 year old hottie who wants to rock your world" - it's fiction.
If YRC could afford a 10% across the board pay raise, they wouldn't be in the position they are. The lenders are going to want to see a contract before agreeing to terms while no union is going to sign a contract "subject to lender approval".
Personally, I don't think YRC NEEDED the $700 they got from the government in 2020. I think they believed it was going to be easy money that they could pay interest on for a few years and then get a big chunk forgiven. They tried to take the money and run, but forgot to tie their shoes and fell in the smelly stuff.PaulMinternational, plynnjr92, dwells40 and 7 others Thank this. -
I agree and some of the antics of both sides along with the smoke and mirrors of management will make a very good book someday when this finally shakes out .dwells40, Gearjammin' Penguin, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this.
