That fate of most of CFs trailers and dollies was scrap and storage units .
Not much of the power units saw use in the US market and was most likely scrapped or or had the frames cut off headed south of the border and south America....a few went to collections such as Mike gullys in quincy Illinois.
Yellows newer volvos , Pete's and 680s and newer trailers may be absorbed into existing us ltl fleets but the old trailers , old volvos and internationals will go to scrap or exported ....im guessing the dock equipment is in no better condition and will meet the same fate .
I thought when yrc bought all that new equipment they might take care of it but nope it quickly looked ratty so hard to say .

I’m sure we all see the occasional CF trailer (and even PIE unit) in random places…they can add Yellow and have the whole set…
IH Truck Guy, Siinman and bzinger Thank this. -
Lmao ! Yeah collect them all !

A lot of PIE's stuff went to Mexico and South America. The last bunch of new trucks we got before they folded up had Cat 290s in them...they'll probably run forever.Siinman, Oxbow, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -

I don't understand how some of these LTL companies run some of these trucks. If I was given the truck roadrunner had, I'd walk out. All the companies I've worked for never had tractors more than 5, maybe 6 years old at most. Most were traded in around 4 years.

Reddaway had some seriously old trucks. I regularly drove long nose FLDs there because nobody else wanted to drive them. Picked out my favorite one and kept it clean.
When I transferred to Old Dominion in Rialto from Salt Lake, the linehaul trucks were fine but the city fleet was a mix of bad and worse. Trucks from 2011-2015, old raggedy and unreliable. Over the past year though we've been retiring old trucks like they're all on fire, replacing them with 2018-up former line trucks. The linehaul fleet now is made up of 2022-2024s, some of them are even automatic. Though my team truck is a 2020 with 672k and ready for retirement soon. Manager says they can hopefully put us in a 2024 when they receive a new shipmentGearjammin' Penguin, Cardfan89, bzinger and 3 others Thank this. -
My buddy who just retired from Old Dominion didn't have is team truck taken from him till after nine hundred Thousand. It was still in the ready line at Carlisle Pa when he retired in June. Their bid was out to Rialto.
