I wonder if the likes of ODFL or SAIA etc would consider you if you completed a short training/schooling with them. I know ODFL was training drivers themselves, so in my mind at least, it would make sense to hire you with 4 months and test/train.
First year plan cut short

Save your first and last paycheck at any company in case they go bust and you don't have anyone's phone number to give as a reference. If you have ANYTHING with the company letterhead, keep a copy of that thing or use it to make a generic statement on company letterhead confirming your dates of employment. Yellow isn't the first company to disappear but you will need to verify your employment with them, even if nobody answers the phone or replies to email. I worked for a company that got bought out by Old Dominion and left within 2 weeks of the purchase. I just typed up a letter of reference on company letterhead that confirmed when I worked there and what I did. Good luck.Gearjammin' Penguin, Truckingdaytrader, lual and 1 other person Thank this.

I was on the phone with one of your former co-workers who is flying out here for an interview with me or one of my staff - we are paying for the trip.
She was all in pieces over this, 10 years with mustard and 6 years OTR. She went on about losing everything and literally crying about no prospects, so I told her to grow up, there is hope. She shut down the tear factory and listened to what I said.
I told her, the real problem with a lot of drivers is they get trapped into thinking that they are unmarketable (many are but that's another long post), in your case OP, you act like you are stuck because you have 4 months and no one will hire you, so as I told her, I'm telling you, there are a few carriers out there in the ether - over 150k - so it is easy to apply to most of them if you want, so APPLY and see what happens, the worst is this - they don't call you. The best is you get hired, while many will be in the middle.
Hell for that matter, someone posted on another forum he has been getting drivers using AI scripts to fill out apps, don't ask me how it is done or where you get the scripts but it is possible.Gearjammin' Penguin, TripleSix, Truckingdaytrader and 3 others Thank this. -
