I literally called 18 places looking for a 235/75 R17.5 tire. Between Denver and Omaha.
Love’s don’t stock it
TA don’t - one Petro said they get them once every 6 months.
Bosselman don’t stock.
One place said they don’t have them and don’t do them because they can’t get them off the rim.
All tire shops closed on Saturday or Sunday or both.
I’ll be running empty across there tomorrow, then up 29 to Sioux City, IA - if anyone has any suggestions.
235/75 R17.5 tires - rare as rocking horse crap?

I don't know who out that way may have them, but what I can say is I've had the unfortunate displeasure of changing 8 of those tires one time. Our tire machine was no match for them, so it was all done with tire bars.
Never. Again.
Good luck -
Great. I’ve never had tire work done on this trailer.
Why is it that tire machines can’t handle them?singlescrewshaker, cke, Feedman and 2 others Thank this. -
Only thing I can think of is that the sidewalls on a tire that size would probably be a little stiff.

That and most try to mount it like a regular tire. The ones I’ve dealt with are backwards.
You mount the tire with the rim face up. If you try and mount it face down, then you’ll be hating life.singlescrewshaker, cke, Goodysnap and 5 others Thank this. -
this won’t help today but,
every trailer I have run with 17.5 tires, I carry 2 mounted spares for just this reason. Finding a tire guy on the road that knows how to change them and has them is almost impossible. The cost of 2 spare wheels and tires will be covered by one road call adventure. I once had a loves in Texas send a guy out at 1 am to do 2 tires on a blade trailer - took him 3 hours and thought he was gonna die.singlescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
@singlescrewshaker might be able to offer some insight, I believe he pulls a step with that size tire.singlescrewshaker, cke, High Stepper and 2 others Thank this.

That’s what I’ll have to do - I didn’t anticipate this issue with this trailer till now.singlescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 5 others Thank this.
