Would the load have shifted the same amount if your tandems were all the way back? Why or why not?

It's just like with motorcycles. You dress for the slide, not for the ride. You secure for the crash, not for the drive. If your load shifts you can usually only blame yourself.

Also, driving flatbed the company pays overweight tickets. At least at my company.

 

That's what I did with my overweight ticket.

They are, but the ticket is written by the state police. They will indeed chase you if they don’t have anything going on

 

I hope he didn’t blow any wheel gaskets getting on those brakes like that.

 

So you ever heard of Shoring Bars?

NOT LOAD BARS but Shoring Bars?

One reason why I have etrack in all my trailers is to use shoring bars so the freight doesn't shift forward.

We do a lot of paper and wrapper material and shoring bars are placed in front of each segment of the load, one on the top and one on the bottom, they will stop the rolls from moving in a hard stop.

I learned from my days on the road securing the load from forward movement is more important than just getting it loaded, straping it in, and going.
