It's governed to 75 already so that's nice. Getting fuel then going to try to get about as far as I can get tonight. Fuel was $3.85 down here in Texas with mudflap. Total expenses today today with fuel, batteries $1061.24.

Just some random thoughts
Was talking with friends and being a lease/owner operator popped up. I know from a financial perspective I would be successful at FCC but my issue is with the business side of things. I feel like taxes, maintenance, and everything else being an IC requires would just be too much stress that I don’t want to deal with. And anyways, if I wanted to do it, I would want to start with a new truck as a company driver and start a lease on it after it reaches whatever mileage FCC requires, if that would even be possible. Hopping into a lease truck that you know nothing about seems like a bad idea in my mind, because you don’t know how the previous driver(s) treated it. I’ve heard way too many horror stories about people leasing trucks that already have a couple wheels in the grave.IH9300SBA, MidWest_MacDaddy, rokue and 1 other person Thank this. -
I didn't feel like leasing I don't really want payments when I am trying to learn o/o so I paid cash. Plenty of tax write offs left. Anyway I will need to run this through a good detail and the refrigerator needs to be pulled out and repaired or replaced it's not working.

As far as the truck, that's exactly what I did. Got it brand new as a company driver. They don't lease them till they are around 250k, I leased it with 257k, only driver it's ever had. So, that can be done... as far as everything else, I'd recommend getting a little more experience in the industry first, not discouraging you from doing it, just giving ya my two cents. FCC requires 6 months with the company, I waited a year and a half just to make sure I had a good feel for them first.IH9300SBA, MidWest_MacDaddy, 48Packard and 4 others Thank this.

I do only have a little over a couple years in the industry as a whole. I’m not even sure I want to lease a truck. I don’t really see much benefit of having your own truck other than being able to say you have your own truck. But again, others probably know more reasons than I do as I’m a noob when it comes to IC’s. At any rate, it would be a couple years at the least before I could do it the way I would want to. I have 414k miles on this truck and based on what other drivers have said, it could be pulled for a trade in anytime between now and 500k. Plus the time it would take to put another 250k on a truck. Right now I’m just in the thinking stages. I have plenty of time to make a decision.
Sorry if I don’t make much sense. I’ve been up since 3:30 this morning so some brain fog is setting in.IH9300SBA, MidWest_MacDaddy, runningman0661 and 3 others Thank this. -
I’ve also been meaning to get a hold of Mike sometime and ask when they usually trade Peterbilts in. Another driver said the warranty is set up different than other trucks, but I’ve no idea if that statement has any merit or not.

They trade/sell when the warranty expires or before if truck is falling apart.
