3 broken ribs, colapsed lung, 3 surgeries, 6 chest tubes and Workers Comp is now contesting all benefits bankrupting me. Beware of any company that uses CorVel for Workers Comp, downright evil. Delayed every medical referral messing up entire rehab.
Attention all company drivers!!!

FL is right to work too. And in FL, Abco Transportation is really bad & cheap & disorganized & they short your paychecks. Every trlr is a dirty, filthy, debris filled mess. Get ready to sweep & clean trlrs or better yet, stay away from Abco ! 1 raise in nearly 1.5 yrs & it was 1CPM.

Labor shortages make unions obsolete. If your company is making you sweep trailers and that's so bad, quit, and watch them go out of business. I quit the trucking industry—period. Let them micromanage their robot drivers. Nobody needs to put up with being a company scapegoat.
However the unions almost always use part of your union dues to support the same candidates that cause you a lot of problems in trucking. If you must join a labor union, you may have the right in your state to only pay "fair use" fees. Since unions are usually fundamentally dishonest, they won't tell you that such rights even exist. I have to. It's a program that allows you ONLY to pay enough fees for collective bargaining and fundamental union protections, and they aren't allowed to bill you the full amount—then send the rest off to the political candidate of their choice.
Before I learned I had these rights in my own state, I actually unwillingly sent more money to the political candidates I opposed, than the ones I supported. Also, my employer was a union shop, so I had to pay by contract, despite state law, but I found I could opt out anyway by paying to a charity.
Many people I know have been in unions for years, and when they finally came to need the union, it did them no good at all. Many unions will only make you feel protected and they'll hope you never actually need to use them. You're better off learning the law yourself. I did.
As for speaking against an employer—well try speaking against a union! You'll get called a scab, and likely go out to your car only to see your windows bashed in and your tires flattened. -
I used to be in a firefighters union. Part of AFL-CIO. Only because the were bargaining for my pay. But I hated the monthly magazine that pushed left wing candidates.Bret1984, Chinatown and any name you wish Thank this.

If a company / employer is scouring social media to see what their employees are saying about them - I see that almost as an admission of wrongdoing right there. Sounds like my former employer LOL
LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
Not just here. They have their shills in the more popular trucking Facebook groups also. If they devoted more of the resources they spend on advertising and playing NSA to actually doing their jobs and paying drivers better they might actually start liking what drivers say about them.
TruckDriver87, Bumper, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Aren't they all the same.I stopped my authority and leased to a great small company.our owner gave in because of initial structure.Honestly had no choice..They fought and continue to fight for drivers .The megas by up the little guys.I would say this is USA Trucking as a country. The insurance.Cooperate greed. Its a black hole.Every cooperation is built to make money. They all bid on the same work. All megas are the same.Maybe the branch you choose is where you can get some relief.Usa trucking suckss
