I was working south today by JFK airport....I took the Van Wyck south but my coworker took the Clearview from up by the Throgs Neck to Hillside Ave. He said the same thing about the traffic, showed up to location like over an hour after me and we both got breakfast at the same spot lol.
It was definitely unusual....something was going on and it's usually never like that.
Now I95/Cross Bronx is a different story.

I looked at both bridges off the island on Google Maps. From where I was coming from, there was a lot of red and orange between me and both...I know I probably blew 3.5+ hours in traffic just on the island itself not counting all the b.s. coming and going on the GW.Itsbrokeagain, 48Packard, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.

Found another tire with a sidewall gash, figured I better get both tires fixed tonight.
fun fact: loves has sent their road service dispatch to India. They demand I put my dispatcher on the phone to give them the account number that they could look up. I can’t give them the number because I’m just a driver. I tried to explain to her that I can’t just hand the phone to someone on the other side of the country. She wouldn’t call the phone number that I had to give her right before she asked for our account number. So I hung up and let kenworth after hours deal with that ########.Itsbrokeagain, dwells40, 48Packard and 4 others Thank this. -
It's getting to the point where we should consider outsourcing a form of treason. It deprives Americans of jobs and is detrimental to the economy and supply chain of this country.

Get to my shipper and....none of the load numbers match so I have to wait until Toledo opens to see if they can locate the proper information. Grrrrrrr. Glad I got up early to get here to sit and wait...load instructions say we have to email the B/L to someone at the shipper in order to get an internal pu number, but security won't let me in without a pu number...so how are we supposed to get a B/L to send in get a pu number if they won't let us in...this feels like a trucking version of who's on first.

Got my pickup number and got loaded. 2 big ingots of metal, 17,500 each. Managed to make it to the OH Welcome center. I have 2361 miles to the delivery now. Once empty it'll put me in the mid-14,000's for the month. The new travel agent seems to be catching on to the job pretty good, although, you can tell that it gets a bit overwhelming from time to time when we talk, but he is a former driver, so it's not anything he can't handle, and he seems to have a good attitude, so far.Lonesome, 88 Alpha, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this.

Did you have to tarp them? We are the only ######## that tarp that stuff. First time I loaded those the guy handed me a framing nail gun and said “when it rolls off my forks put that chock under the ingot and nail it down.” It was a real safety third type of operation.DonRobbie and motocross25 Thank this.

Yep, had to tarp 'em because it is for Boeing. This is the 2nd load of these I have hauled, and both had to be tarped. The last time the guy said it is because they don't want people seeing what we're hauling. Not sure why, titanium isn't that valuable as a scrap metal, and as big as these are, it would take a special scrap yard to fence these things.
These are on a small 4x4 cradle, but like usual I put extra securement, so they should stay put.
There was another driver there from PA and he only picked up one, and he tarped his as well. Another driver in a covered wagon picked up a couple.
