This seems to be the most active thread in the Walmart sub forum. So figured this was the best place to ask these questions. (This whole forum is pretty dead tbh, what happened?)
10 years exp, no accidents, clean MVR. I saw an ad for the DC north of San Antonio (New Braunfels), TX advertising $105k/yr. I'm literally in this forum saying that if they can't push me over $100k I'm not interested. Well now I am interested. What is the schedule like? What is the cost of the health insurance as of Sep 2023? Are you home daily? Every other day? Do you have a set schedule, or do you rotate days? Do they really monitor your phone usage while driving the truck?
I'm cool with the uniforms, I'm cool with laying over if needed. But the $105k is indeed enticing and not having to unload my own freight (current gig, 85k, and I unload my own freight. Free healthcare, weekends/holidays off). I'm okay with giving up weekends/holidays, but the healthcare might be the sticking point here.

Hear haer; I’m paying attention to this one. I’m scheduled for Walmart driver orientatation later next month in Deleware. Going to be driving local, home daily; not OTR and not regional.
Going to be working out of Lewiston, Me.
Anybody have any input? Pay, medical insurance ( very important, my wife had a kidney transplant four years ago; anti rejection meds that she takes daily are outrageously expensive. -
I’m going to apply too when and if there’s ever an opening around DFW. I’m thinking the metroplex is a goldmine of drivers though so it’s probably not easy. All qualifications met 10 fold.
I’m a tanker yanker by blood but I’m starting to see to many OTR type hijinks occurring. Loads not ready….wait a day here. Miles a tad bit short every once in awhile….the usual complaints.
Are full weekends working, BOTH Saturday AND Sunday to be expected starting off? -
Not sure about both Saturday and Sunday; really, for an such an organized company such as Walmart, I’ve noticed that, other than what they are expecting for full compliance from an applicant, communication such as benefits, job description, insurance costs, starting times and miles driven are pretty vague, if not existant at all.Dna Mach Thanks this.

The only sure fire way to get Sat & Sun off is to get a Monday out 5 day work week but most senior drivers pick these. On the other 5 day work weeks a Sunday out would of course work Sunday and a Tuesday would work Saturday and you've hit the jackpot if you're a Wednesday out and work the whole weekend. You only get the extra mileage weekend rate if you work both days OR are scheduled to.

I posted a break down pay from 2018. The drivers probably wont post that like I did cause they like to rat and they might pp slap them.

Where? I'm always down to see what other companies pay.

So first round of associate to driver program students just arrived at my DC, were 5 I think and I lost 2 spots of seniority. Because they get to keep their total Walmart work history seniority. Wondering what everyone thinks about that.

Not cool! Really???
-
Yeah and I'm just thinking of future classes coming in and bumping me even further down the line. I was only 2 spots away from potentially getting a set run. Now 2 more..... kinda crazy.
