Plate on it has last sticker from 2017, the guy used to put in parades,
Veterans Day, 4th of July, Memorial day, etc. so it ran and drove.
There were only 4 or 5 four star generals in 1942.
May even have a real historical significance,
don't know if it was in Europe, or stateside during the war.
Patton, Mcarthur, Eisenhower, there are more...... I gotta dig.
Would be a hoot if it was Patton's car.
Packard registry has less than 500 listed for 1941.

A quick search shows there were only three active four-star generals in '42:
    Douglas MacArthur
Malin Craig (came out of retirement in '41)
    George C. Marshall jr

Eisenhower and Arnold were promoted in '43, Stilwell in '44, and a bunch in '45.

Looking in everything to see if there is a clue as to the person who used this car.
There were ragged remnants of a seat cover, taking that off reveals a clean seat, in original condition. No paperwork under the seats.
Also, the 6"x9" brown certificate of title is original. No other paperwork was provided for provenance.

Apparently the last One-Twenty was made in '41, and the last pre-war auto was made in '42, so this one might have been used by any of the four-stars until the end of the war. That expands the list quite a bit.

Got that big torque monster straight 8 in it? The holy grail would be if it was one of the few that had Packards version of the Merlin V12. Legend has it a few were produced for the army.

But that General was MacArthur, whom was a prickly SOB by all accounts. I don't think I would have wanted that job.
