Cargo Runner (Burr Ridge, IL.), another SCAM

I know some on here would deem 1 or 2 Chicago companies as okay to work for, but I'll be darned if in 49 years I can't think of one single company that I would drive for except a freight outfit like ups.

 

$250/week for a security deposit, for an EMPLOYEE? Like NOPE.

Now, a for a guy leasing his equipment on to someone's authority, or individual doing a flease purchase..... that would be an emergency fund. Which would go into an interest bearing escrow account, for any unexpected large repairs that could sink many that do not manage their own finances. Refundable w/interest.

For an EMPLOYEE..... ? No way in heck for me, at least. No #### way.

 

My question is; When does this $250 a week end?

 

when you die......or soon afterwards

 

Some of the LTL companies are probably alright. Peet Frate Lines, Custom Companies, Chicago Suburban Express, etc

 

Those and there's many more reputable carriers, it's just the 1099s giving the area a bad name

 

Those companies deduct that money for 8 to 10 weeks. This is why I only say drivers should go there if they have no other options. Many drivers make the mistake of considering it a first option. These companies really are incapable of making money by playing by the the rules. They're like loan sharks of trucking lol

 

A fool and his money are soon parted….

 

I say if this is their last option, it is time to get out of the industry.
