Well 3500 miles and 11 days later, super load successfully delivered wa to sc. got two oversize trailer to move over the weekend and into next week. Should be able to avoid all the holiday restrictions.

I either need a drom deck on my next truck, or I need to get better at not taking free lumber. 8’ kiln dried Douglas Fir 8x8’s and 6x6’s. The 6x6’s are really clear. Hopefully will someday make a woodworking bench out of them. IMG_6330.jpeg

I love, love dunnage. Two decks, and multiple chicken coops/tractors built with dunnage.

dwells40, Friend and kylefitzy Thank this.

A lot of the lumber mills around here quit giving out quality 8 foot dunnage. Now it's 4 foot random width junk that wouldn't grade.
But...if you know the loaders and they know you'll keep your mouth shut and not get greedy you can still score. A case of beer and a few pounds of deer jerky help too. One of our drivers built an addition on his house, a deck, and a garage, almost all out of dunnage and scavenged lumber. It took him ten years but he did it. Most of it is second growth redwood...beautiful stuff.

Do you saw the dunnage down your self? Surely you don't build a deck floor out of 6 x 6s. I did flat bed for a couple of years and got plenty of 4 x 4s. Never thought to have them sawn into dimensional lumber

    Friend Thanks this.

No, I just use it to supplement dimensional lumber and for projects that don't require cosmetic scrutiny. Like goat sheds and coops.

Oh great...now we are becomming a part of a Canadian Mega...maybe they'll can some of Wylie's execs like Wylie cans the execs of their merged companies. Like I said about us becoming a Wylie partner...NO GOOD WILL COME OF THIS...at least for us working class pack mules
