    They have a no phone rule (even on Bluetooth) and fired me for being on Bluetooth talking to their dispatch while driving to a safe place to park... however their managers regularly called and texted me knowing that I was currently driving — because they saw I was near something that they needed done.

    The real reason I was fired was in retaliation for a battle over ADA Accommodation requests, in which I told them it was against the law to deny a request and they had to find a solution. Their solution was to listen to phone recordings and find me doing something against their rules.

    After termination, I reported the issue to their "Ethics Hotline" and was asked if I would like to continue my employment.

    I kindly declined.

    So why complain?
    “They fired me for breaking rules!!”
    want your job back?
    “No.”

    They used to call me too while driving, then ask if your driving which they could see on elog.
    Then they’d say to call back when you stop.
    My dbl thought it was stupid too, so i’d just tell him to get to the point.
    We’d talk and i’d get my job done.

    I have no problems with companies taking away jobs from headset/pajama/croc wearing people.

    Schneider is a company that plays by the rules. They spend weeks paying and training people to not be distracted while driving.

    Having a conversation while driving takes away your focus from your job, which is driving.

    You wanna be a professional CDL driver, pay attention to everyone else thats motoring around you.

    It's still a mystery how the world spun, societies were made and fell, we put a man on the moon, and easy chicks and alcohol were a thing, all before people had to be on the GD phone all the time!!!!
    Suck it up, buttercup. Maybe you can follow the rules at your next job.
