Amazon trucks have become the new Swift.

Every pile up I've seen this year an Amazon truck or multiple have been in it.

 

don't forget, they are not Amazon trucks, just trailers..

1099 drivers or small fleets hiring morons to pull them trailers.

still makes Amazon look bad though

Way back when they thought the sleepers on trucks were meant for show.

 

Prime example of the conditions not being right to drive like a boss with Dart.

 

John Stomps the new ceo for Dart was all over that Dart semi on his evening video chats on you tube the other day.

 

The Freightliner and Volvo factories,dealerships and body shops are going to be VERY BUSY this season,along with the wrecker companies!!
It seems like with each new wreck the rotators are getting fancier!lol

 

I was driving west on I-20 in this neighborhood the other day. First sign of mayhem was a car in the median still occupied. A mile or two later, I did spy a purple Ford Ranger that also skidded into the median.

Next wreck I passed looked like a car slammed into a tractor trailer with the car on the left shoulder, and the truck on the right. The fairings were smashed to heck. Fortunately, a state trooper was working the scene which caused passing vehicles to slow.

From then on, crashing tractor trailers was the order of the day. I wasn't able to photograph all the carnage I witnessed, but there was a lot. Like the flat bed trailer that was being hoisted upright by a rotator. As I neared this wreck I was finally able to recognize that this trailer wasn't a flatbed at all. It was a dry van that was thoroughly destroyed. No roof. No sides. No front or rear. Never seen that before.

I needed to stop at Walmart in Meridian and hit a patch of ice turning left under the overpass. Had my drives not been on dry asphalt, I would not have been able to stop, and probably would have went over the curb that was there. Had to reverse a couple of times with an audience present to negotiate that turn.

On the way out of Walmart, I spoke with another driver who had the same experience I did shortly after me. He, too, noted how nice wreckers are these days what with how busy they are. Nice man. Sounded like he was from jolly old England.
